What's In You!

I remember almost 10 years ago, all I desired was to finish my education and get a good paying job. Like the majority I thought that’s what people did, work a steady 9-5, take a vacation once a year and look forward to retiring with benefits.

Now, please don’t miss understand me there isn’t anything wrong with working a 9-5 job; if you are using it as a stepping stone to a greater place. I believe we all have the ability to become great at whatever we desire to do. I once heard a man said “greatness is a choice not your destiny”- Les Brown. I totally agree, I was once one of those people who secretly desired greater; but thought greatness wasn’t in my reach. I would oftentimes tell myself that there is more to life then working to fulfill another person dreams. But truth be told, successful people were not in my circle. I didn’t know any successful entrepreneurs, authors, attorney, doctors or world changers. My environment was filled with hard working people that lived from pay check to pay check. Nevertheless, it never occurred to me that maybe one day I could own and operate my own business, write a best seller, empower millions and travel the world as a philanthropist. Now, 10 years later I am glad I never silenced that inner voice that oftentimes reminded me of greater. I recently discovered in the last couple of years that there is more within me than I thought.

A treasure chest full of untapped potential and dreams that I didn’t know existed. Ideas, desires, dreams, and most importantly a vision; waiting for me to discover them. All I had to do was first believe in myself, develop the skills, and the knowledge needed to accommodate my discovery.  Although, it may seem like a three step process it really isn’t. Believing in yourself takes a trunk load of courage and not to mention, developing the skills and knowledge needed for the task. But I can assure you its all  worth it, in the end. Discovering what’s in you will cost you  something. For example, pain produces life. When a woman is with child she is carrying life within her. In order for what’s in her to come out she has to experience discomfort, pain and sometimes embarrassment to give birth to her baby. I believe we all have seeds of greatness within us, waiting to be discovered. Like a pirate seeking buried treasures beneath the ocean. Do I believe searching for hidden treasure takes sacrifice? Absolutely! This journey will take a lot of sacrifice, courage, discomfort and even pain to discover and release what is inside of you.

But don’t give up or give in, you owe it to yourself in spite of fear, lack of finance, support and etc. To achieve your highest goals and pursue your secret dreams. It's time to discover what's in your treasure chest. The road to greatness is never easy, it is filled with pot holes, muddy waters, detours, road closures, and etc. Nevertheless, make the decision to pursue your heart’s desire. You are one decision away from living your dreams and fulfilling your purpose. What’s in you must come out! The world waited for what was in Steve Jobs, Oprah, Mother Teresa, Sara Blakely and the world is waiting for YOU too. The next time you hear that still voice, believe, pursue, overtake, and dominate.

Live your passion; while pursuing your purpose
